LOS ANGELES STADIUM - INGLEWOOD, CA
In December 2015, construction began on what will become the jewel of sports stadiums worldwide; SoFi – LA Stadium and Entertainment District.
With completion planned for the start of the 2020 NFL season, LA Stadium will serve as home to the Rams, Chargers, will host Super Bowl LVI and the opening/closing ceremonies of the 2028 Olympics.
In nearing plans to begin the clear paneled ETFE (Ethylene Tetrafluoroethylene) roof construction, Buffalo Hydraulic was awarded a contract to design, build and supply a custom, electric hydraulic, high pressure, high-tonnage hydraulic jacking system.
Eight power unit consoles serve to generate the required system flow and 10,000 p.s.i. pressure through (24) independent circuits.
Through (40) glycerin filled pressure gauges, (84) high-pressure specialty valves and 4,400’ of high-pressure hose assemblies, high-pressure hydraulic oil is delivered to (24) custom hydraulic cylinders.
The accumulative generated force required from this system is 3,600 tons (7.2 million lbs.).
We’re very grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this super stadium project and wish to express our thankfulness to Inglewood, Los Angeles, and all of California!
