Beyond its beauty, the falls generates an enormous amount of hydroelectric power on both sides of the border. The flow rate is carefully regulated to optimize energy production, with peak flow occurring during the summer months at an estimated 700,000 gallons per second.

Many agree that this extraordinary volume and power make Niagara Falls worthy of the title “The Eighth Wonder of the World.”
