POTOMAC RIVER – WOODROW WILSON BRIDGE

Buffalo Hydraulic has been awarded a contract to design and build two custom hydraulic bridge jacking systems that would allow accurate placement of 72 pre-cast concrete sections.  These sections are brought into position on a barge and then lifted by a crane for accurate placement on the new bridge piers.

Precise placement of the pre-cast concrete sections needed more timely accuracy than a crane could provide. Two Buffalo Hydraulic custom-built gas engine power units provided synchronous accuracy, with the ability to allow the operator the opportunity to override for independent control – Allowed the project to be completed safely and ahead of schedule.
