Through being challenged to pray for God’s leading in where He would have me to serve, the answer came specifically – The Oglala Lakota Pine Ridge Reservation, South Dakota.
In seeking His path, and reaching out to the Lakota people of Pine Ridge, we began palletizing and shipping nonperishable food contributions. Along with buffalo meat provided by the OST, the food that we’ve been able to share has been distributed through OSPRA to families suffering through the emotional pain of a funeral. This, so that a meal could be prepared in their honor. Depending on actual contents, typical food shipments vary from 1,000 – 1,200 lbs. and are sent in support.
From there, our support has moved into homeless and general needs CAP tribal member food & winter clothing support on Pine Ridge and Rosebud.
We share this to extend the same challenge that I once received. That is, to pray for where God may have you to serve. Many are active in community organizations, church groups, school projects and a variety of programs supporting others. If you feel truly blessed and are already contributing to a cause of helping in another need, I praise you.
If not and you feel a heart for the Kul Wicasa, Oglala Lakota and Sicangu men, women & children of The Lower Brule Sioux Tribe, Oglala Lakota Nation – Pine Ridge, Standing Rock and/or The Rosebud Reservation with a desire to help, please let me know.
It’s simply giving with all expenses covered and there are no additional costs to what we do. My offer to you is to 100% match any currently dated nonperishable foods, personal hygiene items, or winter clothing that you feel led to contribute. From there, we will organize and pay for the shipping of those general needs items into Lower Brule, Pine Ridge, Standing Rock & Rosebud.
