Buffalo Hydraulic, Custom – Pounds Force, Hydraulic Force, Pressure Gauges.
While ‘P.S.I.’ and ‘Pounds Force’ are commonly confused and mistakenly interchanged, they define two very different factors.
Buffalo Hydraulic pounds force pressure gauges will allow the operator to read the system pressure and pounds of force on one face.
The unit of measure for monitoring any pump is P.S.I. Realizing what this abbreviation actually stands for (pounds per square inch), the effective square area of the cylinder being used will also need to be known to determine the amount of Pounds of Force being applied or generated.
If a simple p.s.i. gauge is used, the following math will apply.
Multiplying the system pressure (p.s.i.) by the effective square area of the cylinder being used will define the actual Pounds of Force being generated.
Whether standard or custom, supplying a gauge face that will display Pounds of Force or Tons of Force will eliminate the misunderstanding of calculating while on site.
It is very important that all components in a system makeup are rated to accept the amount of pressure being generated from the pump!
