Beginning with manually operated screw jacks over 100 years ago, today’s high-pressure, hydraulic jacking systems & components provide safety, efficiency, and endless capabilities from a 1-ton lift to several thousand tons. Buffalo Hydraulic has been designing and providing high-tonnage jacking systems for nearly 80 years.
Buffalo Hydraulic offers wide-ranging single and multiple-point high-tonnage hydraulic jacking systems in hand-operated, electric-hydraulic, air motor driven, and gasoline–diesel–powered hydraulic pump options.
In proving the weight of LC-39A & LC-39B at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, our custom-designed jacking system was selected to prove and maintain a vertical lifting tolerance within 0.035″ over 21 points of lift. Through both projects, the custom Buffalo Hydraulic weighing system maintained and digitally proved a lifting tolerance over all 21 jacking points of not more than 0.020″ while proving respective weights of 5,280,000 lbs. (LC-39A) and 5,340,000 lbs. (LC-39B).
Upon review, the mechanical engineering team at Guinness World Records has recognized this as “The Heaviest Object Ever Weighed”.
Our jacking systems are offered with a variety of features and specifications which can all be customized for your specific project needs. We have a variety of single-acting, spring return, and load return jacking cylinders ranging from 1 – 1,500 tons of force. From there, defining your required number of jacking points and choosing from lock-nut styles, double-acting, and through-hole model cylinders will begin the system design. Our jacking systems also offer solutions for unique applications with their lightweight aluminum and low-profile, pancake design.
Confidence Built on Quality ASME B30.1 ANSI B40.1 SAE 100 BVA Hydraulics products are manufactured through an International Quality Assurance System, ISO 9001 which involves consistent observation of administration, management, manufacturing, and production control. Under this system, the related operations are monitored in all aspects from the purchase order to the assembly line and through to shipping the order. The cylinders comply with load testing requirements and/or the safety factor for material yield strength while still functioning properly without oil leakage. BVA Hydraulics pressure gauges meet the criteria for grade A. BVA Hydraulics hydraulic hoses comply with the Material Handling Institute’s specification of minimum life cycles and minimum burst pressure rating. Products comply with the industry standards defined by ISO 9001
